My theme

I’ve noticed since i’ve fixed my feed button, my actual alignment on the theme i have got has changed. The theme isn’t in line as shown below, i have tried to alter the presentation in my ‘presentation’ option in my wordpress account, but i can’t seem to change anything. This version of wordpress has restrictions on what I can and cannot do. I’m looking and researching whether i can altder the theme presentation.

A Tiny error- can be fixed by clicking refresh

I’ve noticed when I go on to my blog, in my sidebar widget sometimes my map and snap preview doesn’t appear, and instead ’sonific songs’ and my chat appears without the map. So if your viewing my site and my sidebar has appeared without the map showing and/or snap preview, hit refresh and it should appear- it’s does the trick for me!

More about wordpress

WordPress has given me a selection of widgets I can use in my site, as well as recommending other useful sites to get for example my slideshow and videos from. This is ok but like I’ve said many times I’m restricted to what I can and cannot do. With most of the widgets I select, I drag and drop so it fits into my sidebar. I then have to configure the details myself and I have to go through the process of signing up to the site, uploading songs videos etc. Then I have to copy the relevant coding into the widget box and have to make sure I have the right coding

Updating wordpress

I was having a look at ways i can add plugins and ways where if i add coding, wordpress will not filter it out and block it from being used. One optionw as to uncheck the rich text editor which i did, but still wordpress filters out coding.

Also i was restricted to the types of files i could upload on my server. I could only upload filed formats including jpg, jped,png,git,pdf,doc and ppt. As i wanted to include other file formats such as mp3,wav,mov,wmv,avi etc, i upgraded my account to a paying account where i can now upload different file formats in images, presentations, videos and audio.

Snap preview

i added snap preview, the option was available in this version of wordpress. I enabled the snap preview and made it available to be seen anywhere in my blog. i found this a fairly simple task.

Internal Server Error- my previous blog

my previous server i was with was  www.michalegrigsby.co.uk/kaila . If you click the link or view the snapshot, you can see an error message- Internal error. This occured when i was trying to upload the falbum widget for flickr. I attempted to change the coding in my server to suit the widget. But something went wrong and when i refreshed my blog and admin area, i couldn’t get back onto it! I done some research to why this happened, http://wordpress.org/support/topic/107427 and there seems to be no real answer for why. I can still access my information through FTP, but still nothing seems to work. So i given up and can’t waste time so i created this blog.

In the meantime, any suggestions and tips to fix my previous blog, then post me comments!  

Main header image change

I changed the default image theme to the one i have got now through my admin-presentation. The main thing i had to make sure i done right was the size of the image. Having created the image, i then uploaded it as a jpeg file and published the file. The image i supose its just my name but the style of font colours represent a lot about me even though its just a font.

Themes

Since i’ve made an account with wordpress, I’ve been looking at th selection of themes I can select from in my presentations folder in admin. I’ve tried the moajority of them, but I like the one you can see now. Its called freshy by jade. I should be sticking with this theme for the rest of my days.
